About us

Our Mission

Our goal is to bridge the gap between the Christian faith and mental health and to reduce the stigmatization of mental health and increase help-seeking behaviour among the BIPOC, the Christian community and humanity at large. This will be achieved by psycho-education, utilization of evidence-based practices, compassion, care, empathy and appreciation for people.

Who we serve....

Come one, come all! While we are representing BIPOC and Christian community, our practice and support is open to as many people as need support.

Beyond the mind,

a way of being...

Life’s stressors can be predictable, manageable, and maybe even planned for! However, there are times when life takes a turn, unexpected events happen, simultaneously or all at once that stretch you beyond your limit. Maybe there is no “mental health” concern or “diagnosis”, but you find yourself needing support. This is a place to receive encouragement, inspiration, hope and equipment for the journey ahead.

Clinical Counsellor

Moyinoluwa (Moyin) Ibigbami, M. A

CCC (CCPA) #10010930

Moyin is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with almost a decade experience in working with an extensive range of clientele with diverse needs. She has experience supporting neurodivergent clients in group homes in the classrooms while working with the Vancouver School Board. She has experience as a clinical counsellor in Vancouver Coastal Health supporting high risk children and youth with their mental illness, school challenges and behavioural issues. Moyin uses trauma informed therapeutic practices and a culturally informed approach, recognizing and appreciating that all individuals have their own culture.

Counselling Approach

Moyin employs various methods tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. She believes that a strong, trusting, and positive therapeutic relationship is essential for the success of any approach. Her collaborative style involves partnering with clients, recognizing them as the experts in their own lives while she serves as a supportive guide throughout their journey.

Evidence-Based Practices:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
This goal-oriented approach examines the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Strategies such as Behavioural Activation, Cognitive Framing, and Realistic Thinking help clients identify triggers and negative thought patterns, enabling them to develop healthier coping strategies. These techniques are particularly beneficial for those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and trauma.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
This approach equips clients with skills to tolerate distress, manage emotions effectively, and enhance their relationships. It is especially helpful for individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and those with a history of self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
